WHAT AN AMAZING TIME!

Our 4th annual Hyperbowl was attended by about 70 people and 100 extremely happy dogs! What a blast!

Thanks to everyone who came out and had such a good time with all of us!! Thanks to your dedication and support of our rescue efforts, TDBCR raised just over $1000.00 for vet bills of dogs in our care!

Special thanks to:

CHERYL AND SCOTT who lent us their wonderful farm for the day, with smiles on their faces!

CHERYL'S SHEEP who tolerated the 'exuberant' efforts of border collies trying their paw on sheep for the first time.

BETTI who generously stepped in and took over the organization of Hyperbowl this year. She did an amazing job!

DOVE for doing all the shopping and lugging all that food out to Maple Ridge without her dogs eating a single piece of it!

OUR COOKS who served up a heaping helping of yummy barbeque, and OUR SALESPEOPLE who wrangled raffle ticket purchases out of everyone!

Speaking of the raffle, what a great bunch of prizes there were! It would be impossible to thank everyone for rustling up some great donations, but a few special mentions must go to

  • SARAH who contributed the much coveted border collie themed pasta set.

  • To DOROTHY for her lovely hand-sewn dog beds.

  • To LISA for the gorgeous large border collie themed dog bed - Lisa can make these beds made to order, so watch this space for design and contact information.

  • To Mary Jo and The Fleas Knees Tees for the amazing shirts!! Check out their site and their really cool clothing.

  • To DOVE and HAPPY DOGS RAW FOOD for her donation of biologically appropriate raw foods.

  • And to TISOL for their cool stuff.

Did you take photos at Hyperbowl you want to share? TDBCR is catching up with the future, and we've created a FLICKR GROUP for photos from the big day. Flickr is FREE to join and easy to use! Create a Flickr account with your yahoo address and send us an email to join the group so we can see your photos too.

THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR MAKING THIS ONE OF THE BEST HYPERBOWLS TO DATE!

THANK YOU FIVE-STAR DOG TRAINING and all the folks who attended the trial in Kamloops on the May long weekend.

You helped raise $600.00 for TDBCR! This much needed donation will go toward massage therapy costs for rescue dog Chase who suffers from nerve damage to his shoulder after being hit by a car, and to help pay for veterinary bills for Hank, who was recently adopted.

We also would like to thank Daynna of Ribbons and Hounds Animal Massage for helping Chase to regain some mobility in his damaged leg through her incredible masage therapy skills! Thanks Daynna!

ANOTHER BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO RUEDI AND THE FABULOUS MAGGIE MAY!

February 24th was Award Night & Annual Banquet of the Nanaimo Kennel Club. This is the first year that the new Forever Home trophy (sponsored by TDBCR and Sib. Husky Rescue) was awarded to the rescue dog with the most titles in the year 2006. The winner is... Maggie May!!

With SIX titles in 2006: STDS (Started Trial Dog Sheep),
NADAC titles TN-E, NCC, OJC, and AAC titles SMGDC and SMSDC.

THANK YOU SMOFO!!

You kind folks who listened when I ranted, soothed when I wanted to cry and bolstered my spirits when I felt like rescue was too overwhelming and sad ... your donations totalled over $700.00 toward needy border collies in British Columbia that TDBCR strives to rescue, rehab and rehome. Thank you for your generosity. It means more to me - and to the collies - than you will ever know. Warm noses to you all!

TDBCR and Siberian Husky Rescue have teamed up to offer the "Forever Home" Trophy through the Nanaimo Kennel Club. It will go to the rescue dog with the most titles in any sport in a calendar year whose owner is a member of the NKC.

Thanks to Ruedi and Mary Lou for donating the trophy!!
