Several
potential adopters met Beck, but when she met the Lechner's Beck
told us they were the family for her. This sweet little dog has
the personality of 10 border collies, and she's the local rat catcher
too!
Just a quick
note to let you know that Beck is settling in wonderfully! She is
such a sweet dog! She definitely loves her ball, snuggling, the
small dogs at the off-leash park, THE BED, and going for runs. She
did hate riding in the jeep for the first few days, but now she
will jump in when I open the back hatch. Her left fore-leg still
is causing her some problems, especially after playing ball or running
around. It's hard to restrict her activity levels..........I know
she needs it more psychologically at this point than physically.
In any case, I'm going to take her to the vet next week and have
it checked out if it's still bothering her. Thanks again for letting
us adopt her!
UPDATE: Beckie is still wonderful as ever! I can't help but feel
smug about having her. Here's a story...................Beckie and
I play ball, soccer and frisbee every day. One morning around Christmas
time, I was standing in the kitchen and Beckie kept coming up to
me and stamping her feet. She would leave, come back, stamp her
feet and leave again. After a few times of doing this, she left
and five minutes later she came back into the kitchen and ever so
gently laid one of my christmas tree decorations at my feet and
looked at me as if to say, "Now do you understand?" She
had gone to the tree and taken one of the most delicate christmas
balls off (without breaking it!) to let me know that I was late
for our session. So cool!
