HOPE

HOPE IS TDBCR RESCUE DOG #2 FOR THE HIGGINS AND WE KNOW BILLY IS SO HAPPY TO HAVE A LITTLE SISTER TO PAL AROUND WITH. CONGRATULATONS HOPE!

Hello again

Well we met Hope on the 10th of May in Trout Lake Park (I am not sure why they haven't renamed the park Doggy Heaven Park).

So, Hope has owned us now for 10 days and is pleased that we are responding so well to most training. She had a little difficulty in teaching us that she gets to go where she wants to go when she wants to go there, but we are people after all and are not all that easy to train.

Hope arrived at Boat Bluff Lighthouse on the 14th and pretty much runs the place now.

There is a pack of wolves on our Island, several black bears and possibly cougars, so keeping an eye on our adventurous little pup is a full time job.

The local ravens that love to torment Billy (our first rescued border collie cross) have found a nice new target and will sit just a few feet above a madly barking and jumping Hope, enjoying themselves immensely.

Hope still has a few new discoveries to make. She has yet to meet the local sea lion population, the resident Orca and Humpback whales and white sided dolphins. She will be taking her first trip in a boat in a week or so and you can see her in one picture trying to untie the boat.

Finally we have to put both Billy and Hope, who are getting along famously, in prison from time to time, when we are unable to keep a close enough eye on them during our daily work. She looks so sad that usually either Charlotte or I will stop what we are doing and "accidentally" let her go.

Will let you know how she is making out in a while
