Handsome
and sweet tempered Farley (formerly known as Rocky, then Roger)
didn't want to be a working dog, he wanted to be part of the family.
And that's exactly what he is now, in his new home. Congratulations
Farley!

We wanted
to drop you a quick note. It has been a week since we picked up
Rocky/Roger and we feel like he has been a part of our family for
much longer. He is an absolute sweetie and things are going great.
He and Phoebe wrestle and run like they have always been together.
(They both give as good as they get). We have been on a number of
long walks off leash and he has done very well. He seems to be feeling
less threatened by other dogs all the time. You were right - he
thinks he should nap on the couch and sleep on the bed at night!
We have decided to call him Farley - for a number of reasons, one
being that it means "from the sheep meadow". We are taking
him through the name transition and he is responding very well.
I took him to our vet for his rabies shot and she thought he was
wonderful.
On a final note, we were so excited last Saturday to pick him up,
and so sad on Sunday. Our older dog, Seko, passed away Sunday night
at 13. Quite the emotional rollercoaster. You and I talked about
believing that things happen for a reason. After our experience
last weekend, we can't help but wonder if Seko held on until Phoebe
had a new companion and we might be in a better position to let
him go. Given all the circumstances, I truly think Farley was meant
for us. Thank you for allowing us to give him a home. We'll stay
in touch.
