"RED DOG" VADC
TWEED FD, FDX,FDCh ADC, AADC, MJDC see his stats page!
PIPER FD, FDX, FDCh
Born January 29th, 1997, Red Dog is a special dog who goes by an assumed name, a red tri border collie who was badly bred and badly treated before I welcomed him home. This dog has a heart of gold and lives to please - the only thing that holds him back is his terrible CHD. RD still competes in agility and goes herding and play a mean game of fetch. He has taught me everything I know about difficult dogs and dogs whose love know no bounds. He is my pride and joy, my best friend and my staunch defender. He is my heart and soul. He is my golden boy and he is the reason I rescue Border Collies.
Born May 6th, 2000, Tweed is a red Border Collie X Australian Shepherd who thinks he is a rock star - he won't give autographs and he's rude to his fans. He's also a little bit of a Diva. But he is a wonderfully funny dog who oozes personality and was once called "defiant" by a well known sheepdog trainer. Tweed was born in rescue in Washington and has been the banana peel on the floor of my life every since. He is stubborn, comical and will run his little heart out for a tennis ball - he's an agility star and a flyball maniac and he is wonderful comic relief!
Born approximately November 18th, 2002, Piper is a teeny weeny border collie with a Great Big Personality, rescued from the Burnaby SPCA as a pup. There is one word for Piper: Evil. Pushy, nutty, dominant and energized to the excess, our house must have been very dull before she arrived. Piper is a mean machine on sheep and can find a tennis ball anytime, anywhere. She eats everything in sight and has ears like a bat - they hear everything! She's tearing up the flyball lanes likes the little bullet that she is, earning titles left and right! When Piper is ready, she will be a bolt of lightning on an agility course - small, fast and sassy as they come. Watch for her!

RUGER FD, FDX, FDCH, FM, FMX, FMCH, SAADC
RICOCHET FD, FDX, FDCH, FM, BADC (Barking Agility Dog of Canada)

Rescued from life in someone's yard, Tobi is the greatest dog alive. He smiles when he sees his friends! Tobi retired from agility after the 2003 Regionals, but is much loved by all and will still get to herd his beloved sheep at Keepmore and bark up a storm ...

Aug 24 2003: Tobi placed 25th at Nationals in the 16" Vets category!

Gorgeous Ru was saved from life on a chain and is now an accomplished agility, flyball and herding dog! The best dogs are gifts to those of us who adopt them because someone else didn't know the gem they had. Read Ru's story here. Ru is a very special boy and he is lucky to have Cheryl.

Dec 19 2004: Ru placed 4th in Novice at Ranch Dog!

Handsome Ric was bred by Rose and Bruce McLeod of Keepmore Farms. He's got lots of famous relatives. He is a great working dog and the enemy of garden hoses everywhere. A gem of a dog, and a real deal border collie! Watch for him in herding trials in upcoming years!

Dec 19 2004: Ric placed 2nd in Novice at Ranch Dog!

Caliber is the world's most adorable JRT. He runs the household and nobody dares cross him. But he also rides on the dashboard of the van. How cute is that? Watch out for his "kisses" though, he's a ladies' man!

Aug 24 2003: Cal placed 9th in the 16" Specials category!

Sept 19 2004: Cal gets his 5,000 NAFA pts and retired from flyball

FOX ADC, SAADC
MALEAH
EMERALD

Fox is a Border Collie X Australian Cattle Dog rescued from the West Vancouver SPCA. Fox is a very special dog - she is trained as a seeing-eye dog, a seizure alert dog and a therapy dog. She worked with special needs children within the Richmond School District for many years. She is a wonderful girl and recently retired from her job to enjoy the good life.

June 8th 2003: Fox just Q'd at Regionals!

Maleah was a rescue from us! She is a gorgeous harlequin blue merle Australian Shepherd and Maleah is mostly deaf. But that doesn't stop her from doing anything! Maleah lives for the ball and is training in agility - she hopes to someday be as famous as Kay Whitehead's deaf dog Flare! Ritchie has taught Maleah to bring the ball to cute girls in the park - such talent!! Maleah is special but not because she is special needs. She is just a lovely dog! Emerald is a border collie rescued by us! She has a docked tail and a ton of personality, and she is also cute as a button. She's bouncy and animated and fun with a mind of her own! We think that Emerald is going to be one stellar agility dog, and Ritchie plans to try her out on sheep some time too. Emerald was supposedly "feral" but you wouldn't know it from her happy, outgoing demeanour!

SEAMUS CGN SADC SAADC SMADC SMJDC TN-N NJC RN

MAGGIE MAY CGN SADC SAADC SMJDC NAC NJC TG-N TG-O TN-N TN-O
Sasha is a Shepherd Cross, probably with some Akita genes which would explain her occasional stubbornness. Born around April 1998, we got her at 2.5 yrs of age from the local SPCA. She is a very cuddly and incredibly sweet dog. After taking basic obedience classes we entered her in agility and she showed that there is actually a border collie mind under that shepherd skull! She loves agility more than anything else - cuddling at home on the couch is a close second though! She is the alpha dog at home and is perfect in that role, helping a lot to keep the calm and show all new foster dogs what proper dog manners are all about. She is our special girl for sure.
Seamus is a Border Collie (possibly Blue Heeler Cross), born around April 2002. He came to us from TDBCR when he was 4 month old. He is a perpetually happy boy and loves people. His love for food though surpasses everything else. Show him a cookie and he'll try any trick to get it. He loves to play agility and Rally O. He romps around with his dog buddies our daily hikes and recently learned to swim. He is our beloved clown at home and amuses us with his antics all the time. It is hard to go by his bed and not give him a quick cuddle because he looks so adorable and always has a happy tailwag for us.
Maggie May is a Kelpie (Cross?) born around September 2001. She came to us as a TDBCR foster dog but we soon knew we could not let her go anymore. She had no self confidence to speak of and would growl or bark if she felt threatened. After living with us for a few months she has turned into "Miss Social" and loves to meet people. Running at maximum speed is her obsession, and agility is the sport for her. At home she tries constantly to bend the rules and do things her way because she is so intelligent. She is not a dog for the faint of heart but she is tons of fun and we love her very much.

TILLEY FD, FDX
WILLOW FD, FDX, FDCh
RUEBEN
Tilley was adopted from Oregon's Second Time Around Aussie Rescue (STAAR) in January 2001, after she was retired from her position as a drug-sniffing dog with the USFDA. She is the best friend a girl could ever hope for and I always tell people that she is my playmate, my protector and my pillow. She really likes balls and licking the insides of people's mouths.
I had been looking for a second dog for more than a year when Willow fell into my lap through a bizarre and possibly fateful set of coincidences. I was in Toronto during the summer of 2003 when she came into TDBCR's care and, upon seeing the picture above, told Sheena to put an 'adoption pending' on her. The look in her eye then and now makes me feel whole, and I look forward to the rest of our years.
Reuben was adopted from the Burnaby SPCA in 1996 when he was 'somewhere between 3 and 5'. He only barks at people he knows and likes, so my boyfriend adopted him because he was the only silent dog in the place. We believe that he's Bernese Mountain Dog crossed with Border Collie but it doesn't matter one iota. At somewhere between 12 and 14 he still gives the girls a run for their money when there's a tennis ball at stake.

OUR HARDWORKING FOSTER HOMES!

Daphne
SANDY
BETTI

Daphne has a few border collies of her own and started fostering for us in 2003. She soon fell in love with foster dog CAY:

Sandy adopted HEIDI from us in 2002 and has gone on to foster several more dogs:

Sandy is also the proud mum of sweet Molly, a senior beagle

Betti began volunteering shortly after adopting the handsome SULLY through TDBCR:

Her and her husband soon fell in love with their foster dog JINX as well:

They are also the proud owners of Ajax, a very handsome blue merle Aussie

TED
HILARY
JOANNE

Ted is dad to the always happy Merlin, a lovely dog from Lee Lumb's farm in Langley:

Ted and Merlin haven't failed fostering 101 yet, but they have come awfully close!

Hilary was already in love with her border collie Cracker when she met, fostered and fell in love with rescue dog BO! Another foster home fails Fostering 101. Congratulations to Hilary, Cracker and Bo!

Joanne and her cutie pie Aussie Ella wanted to help out where they could and foster for TDBCR on occasion. Joanne also coordinates Aussie Rescue for the Lower Mainland!

SIMONE
LIZ
DIANNE

Simone, who has a "thing" for high drive herding dogs, is proud owner to ACD mix Charlie:

After harassing her husband for ages, she finally wore him down and they are now both proud foster parents for TDBCR!

Liz and her two cute corgies think border collies are great and they wanted to help out by fostering a border collie. They were hoping to fail Fostering 101 and gain a new flyball dog - and they did, when they kept Mist!

Dianne adopted a sweetie from TDBCR named GINNY and was so pleased with what she got she wanted to help out and become a foster home!

DOVE
DANA
ALISON

Dove and her border collie, the ever talented Mick, like to do movies and commercials together. We met them an an agility trial and Dove got involved in BC Rescue right away!

Dove and Mick also share their home with Riot the Aussie!

Dove is a dogwalker! Visit her site at www.happydogswalking.com

Dana has all these enormous dogs, none of which are border collies, but all of which are happy to have a "crazy BC" houseguest now and then. Dana volunteers with lots of different rescues and is happy to help out TDBCR too!

Alison adopted TAZ, a border collie X great dane, from TDBCR in 2003. She is currently trying very hard not to fail Fostering 101!

MARISSA
PATTIE AND DAN
MELANIE

Marissa and her husband adopted TOBA, one of the Pasco 9, from TDBCR in 2004. They liked her so much that they wanted to help other homeless dogs and we know one of these days Toba is going to get a new brother or sister!

and she did! Marissa and her husband soon adopted handsome Sammy!

Pattie and Dan adopted not one but TWO of the Pasco 9 in 2004, POLAR AND KILA. They live in Washington so can't foster as often as they would like, but they are always happy to help where they can!

Melanie is another victimof the notorious TDBCR Double Trouble Club, having adopted not one but TWO border collies from TDBCR! First it was Maya:

And then she fell hard for Cody!

A skilled handler and a wonderful owner, we are lucky to have Melanie and her crew as volunteers!

TIA and MATT
BARB
JARRED

Tia and Matt have so many dogs between them that we can't tell you because we can't count that high! They have adopted dogs from TDBCR and other rescues and shelters, but they always have room for a foster if needed!

Barb adopted the faithful, dignified and very wise Buck from TDBCR:

Lucky Buck thought he died and went to heaven, until his mum started fostering puppies. Ack! Even with a broken leg, Barb soldiered bravely on with Buck by her side!

Jarred is another victim of the "Double Trouble" club at TDBCR! First he welcomed the very handsome and very insane Hayden into his home:

and before long he adopted him a brother named Jack!

JONI
JACKIE

Joni has so far managed to escape "failing fostering 101" and is still in love with her one and only Cagney, not a TDBCR dog, but a darned handsome fellow.

JONI MOVED TO MONTREAL SO SHE CAN'T FOSTER RIGHT NOW, BUT SHE'LL BE BACK AT IT WHEN SHE COMES BACK. WE MISS YOU JONI AND CAGNEY!

Jackie, who grew up with border collies, began fostering for TDBCR in 2004. it took her no time at all to fall in love with her foster dog TIKA

Jackie continues to foster for TDBCR as Tika loves the company!
