AUGUST 2009

Sweet one-eyed Tara left this earth after many years of love and loyalty to her human friend Joy. Thank you Joy, for giving Tara peace and comfort all these many years.

SEPTEMBER 12, 2009

With tears in my eyes, I am writing to advise that Mulligan (Hobo) has passed away with the help of my vet. Life became too confusing and painful the last couple days of his life.
After having Mulligan (Hobo) for almost 2 years I will definitely miss him around. Of the 3 old border collies that I have adopted from you, he was definitely the oddest. Mulligan was one of a kind and truly a border collie with his obsessive habits.
Thank you for the opportunity to watch over Mulligan for his remaining years on this earth and I hope he enjoys his new life over the Rainbow Bridge.

DECEMBER 3 2009

At the age of 14 years, Barney passed away surrounded by his family and loved ones. "Yesterday afternoon he was on his usual 5 km walk running along the Pitt River. He was particularly pleased because he managed to eat and roll in a rotten salmon (one of his favorite fall activities). Barney was born on April 29 1995. He was 14. He had a good and happy life.

We will miss him very much."

MARCH 29 2010

Charissa passed away at the age of 14.5 years. "We helped Charissa to pass today at home in a very peaceful “ceremony” with her long-time vet and favourite vet technician. Charissa was a working border collie, a St. John’s Ambulance therapy dog, a gracious host to many foster border collies and Vancouver Giants players, a member of the Pebble Hill dog pack and a much loved friend. She was a grande dame of 14.5 years and we will miss her terribly."

APRIL 16 2010

After 4 happy years with her new family, Maddie passed at age 12 (possibly 13), peacefully at her home with her humans and with the assistance of great vet Tony Lau. Maddie the Giant (aka Large Marge the Barge) is deeply missed by her 4 cats, her two pure BCs (especially Lani, who shared “ladies night out” with her every evening at 8), and her two humans, who are inexpressibly grateful to have known her.

MAY 11 2010

Sport, a.k.a. the oldest dog in the world, passed away today, suddenly and peacefully on a full tummy. He came in from a wander outside and collapsed. He leaves behind his brothers Max and Eric to fight over his big fluffy pillow and his people Sonja, Christopher and Nicholas who kept him ticking way past any reasonable expiry date by the sheer force of love.

MAY 17 2010

"She is still here, in spirit, she has not left yet and she is OK with all of this. I expect her to hang out for awhile until she is sure her buddies are okay without her. Tess, Isaac and Joan's Bella Luna were subdued last night, and this morning. Belle has good company, for she joins Gypsy, Moss, Zeke and Kip out there on the front lawn."

AUGUST 2010

Tipper passed away at the age of maybe 14 years.  "I'm so sorry but I'm afraid I have sad news. I had to say goodbye to Tipper this week. I'm positively heartsick over this as Tipper was the best little friend I've ever had. Nobody, and I mean nobody, ever loved me quite like she did." Maggie

MARCH 2011

Rudy passed away at just 6 years old after complications from a surgery. "We adopted our beloved Rudy from your rescue in February 2005, when he was just a couple months old. He grew up to be the sweetest (and biggest!) dog ever and we had 6 wonderful years with him. Everybody who met him loved him. We will miss him terribly."

APRIL 2011

Blue passed away at age 22 just a few weeks after coming into rescue. Blue went into renal failure and was gently laid to rest. Thank you to Carol and the team at SAINTS who took Blue in and loved him until he passed. "i am going to miss the old bugger, he was a favorite with all of us here. thx for semnding him..i wish we could have had him for a bit longer. but that is the sucky part of really old dogs..they sometimes only have a tiny little time left to really love them."

Wanted to let you know that Skipper has gone – free to eat as much hamburgers, pizza and beggin’ strips as he wants. Brigette wanted me to tell you that she passed along your message to him – she signed it to him…. he was happy. We are so thankful to have had the time we had with him, and thankful to you for your part in his life. We will miss him dearly and will think of him often.
