TDBCR extends its condolences to Tim and Ashlie, who lost their beloved Riley to cancer last night. Riley's last year of life was full of fun and affection and love, thanks to his adopters, and he might never have known happiness without them. Thank you for giving Riley a home, Tim and Ashlie, and know that he was loved and will be missed by us all. Rest in Peace, Riley.

You and Jack remain in our hearts, Dorothy, and thank you for giving him a wonderful life until his passing. He will be deeply missed.
OCTOBER 6 2004
Catie Belle passed away during surgery before she ever found her forever home. Cate was found wandering a rural road with her two puppies in tow and was scheduled for euthanasia in a shelter when TDBCR brought her home and gave her 6 wonderful weeks of love and attention before she passed. We will miss our Catie until the end of our days. Cate was a great dog.
AUGUST 27 2005
Tragically, Tanner passed away after getting his head stuck in a bag left in someone's yard when he was visiting friends. Sweet Tanner will be missed by all who knew him, a gentle, loving dog with a big heart. We are sorry Suzanne, for your loss.
FEBRUARY 2006
at the age of over 16 years, sweet Muffin passed away from kidney failure. Abandoned at a vet clinic at 13.5 years of age. Muffin knew love and peace in her final home until her passing. Bless you Linda and Terry for taking in a old dog.
JULY 2006
It is with an extremely heavy heart that I give the news of Nola's passing. Complications from her heart condition are responsible. She went peacefully in Jen's arms outside on the lawn on her own terms. After an extremely difficult 24 hours, she found her place and time to go. She could not have penetrated further into our hearts in the 2.5 years that we had her. She was the kindest creature I have ever known. We'll miss her terribly. Thank you so much to both of you for helping bring her into our lives.
JULY 2006
"Mad Max" met with a terrible accident and lost his life to a train. Rest in peace, Max. Good boy.
OCTOBER 2006
Calendar Girl Sian passed away from complications due to her heart condition. Sweet Sian was surrendered to TDBCR when she was over 12 years old and knew two years of peace and love in Michael's care. Thank you Michael.
APRIL 2007
TDBCR extends its condolences to Shelly and her family on the loss of Chevy. Chevy was surrendered to rescue when she failed to pass the requirements for goose control because of her epilepsy. She had 6 fantastic months before the seizures became too much for her to bear and with a heavy heart Chevy was laid to rest in April 2007. Good dog, Chevy.
JULY 2007
Precious little deaf puppy Bo Peep lost her life after suffering a massive seizure. Bo Peep never heard the words "I love you" from her foster-home-cum-adopter Shannon, but we know she felt them a thousand times a day. We are grateful that Peep passed knowing love, and we extend our condolences and gratitude to Shannon of Herding Dog Rescue. RIP little Bo Peep. You've finally found your sheep.
AUGUST 2007
With great sadness we mourn the passing of "Lou," faithful protector, fearless cattle dog and loving partner to Cordy and family. Protecting his people and ranch from intruders in August 2007, Lewis was killed by thieves and cowards. Lou left this earth protecting the people he loved to his last breath. May we all be so lucky to have a dog like Lewis.
Rest In Peace, you're a good dog, Lou.
NOVEMBER 2007
When Missy's elderly owner passed away, her family was distraught about mum's beloved dog Missy. Missy was embraced by the Bruns', who often help our seniors, like Muffin. Linda says "She was a great dog and she was a true border collie. Her and Muffin were good dogs and tears were shed when they passed. I was proud to have watched over them for the brief time that they were with me." Missy died of a heart attack on the one year anniversary of her owner's death, and has been reunited with her person.
FEBRUARY 2008
One eyed Glyn, one of TDBCR's most special rescues, passed away after he rallied through several mystery illnesses in his final years, thanks to the love and care of Sue and Carolyn who helped him through. This time, Glyn's old body finally gave in and he's back together again with his best mate Rob Roy. RIP Glyn.
JANUARY 2008
The inspiration for the inception of TDBCR, Briggs AKA "Red Dog," passed away after battling an acute pancreatic attack at the age of not quite 11 years. One of the best dogs known to dog lovers everywhere, Briggs was a king among dogs and not a day passes that I don't miss him just a little bit more. Thank you Bubby Dog, for being my best friend, and for leaving a legacy like TDBCR.
DECEMBER 2008
Two years after she was rescued from a puppymill, Miss Brassy breathed her last in the arms of the people she loved best, passing away at the age of 14.5 years. Claudine says "I am so sad she is gone. I loved her so much. I don't know what it was about her... but from the moment I saw her picture when you first picked her up, I was in love, and felt that we needed to be together. While I love my other dogs a tonne... there was something extra special about Brassy." Rest in peace, special girl
I lost a treasured friend today
The little dog who used to lay
Her gentle head upon my knee
And share her silent thoughts with me...
She'll come no longer to my call
Retrieve no more her favorite ball
A voice far greater than my own
Has called her to His golden throne.
Although my eyes are filled with tears,
I thank Him for the happy years
He let her spend down here with me
And for her love and loyalty.
When it is time for me to go
And join her there, this much I know...
I shall not fear the transient dark
For she will greet me with her bark.
